Summary:
In the Ringo area, Kanjuro encounters Shinobu’s group at the North Graveyard. In Ebisu Town, Law’s group learns from the newspaper that Komurasaki’s funeral will be held and that Kid has escaped from Udon Prison, the place Chopper’s group and Big Mom are currently traveling to.
At Udon Prison, Hyogoro tries to make good use of the food stamps Luffy generously gave him, but Daifugo approaches and tortures the elderly man.
Kanjuro meets Nami’s group at a snowy cabin far from the Flower Capital. Kanjuro states that the most powerful yakuza twenty years ago was Hyogoro, who was much more humane and caring than Kyoshiro at the party. They also report their findings; Robin couldn’t get any useful information, but Brook found the Poneglyph, even though it wasn’t red. They decide to return to the flower capital to rest in the spa.
Sanji’s group is also hiding in the city of Ebisu. They read the news that tells of Komurasaki’s death and Kid’s escape from prison. Law predicts that Luffy will be part of the rebellion in Udon. However, Sanji asks if there is a bath house, causing the others to tackle Sanji. A group of kids enter, playing with Sanji’s raid can.
The Big Mom Pirates are back at the bottom of the waterfall. They can’t go back up because King is defending the top. They know that Big Mom survived the fall because Perospero’s Vivre Card is still intact, so they decide to wait at the bottom for any news.
Big Mom and Chopper’s group ride a crocodile towards Udon. Surprisingly, Kiku forbids Tama and Momonosuke from using the word “sunacchi”, saying that it is inappropriate to use. Kiku then explains the structure of Wano Country, which is divided into six regions. Kuri is in the far west and Udon is just east of it. The other four areas are Kibi, the wasteland, the flower capital in the center, Ringo, the snowy area, and Hakumai, the port area. An island called Onigashima is separated from the mainland.
In Udon, Luffy once again helps old man Hyo by breaking rocks and giving him food stamps. However, he is questioned by Alpacaman about Kid’s escape. Alpacaman, a user of the SMILE fruit, covers Luffy in smelly saliva. Hyo is also defeated by Daifu, a SMILE scorpion fruit user, for getting his meal tickets from someone else. Witnessing the beating, Luffy steps up to confront Daifuga.
This was the last episode to air in Japan before the anime went on hiatus due to the 2019–2020 coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent halt in production. It was restored about two months later, on June 28, 2020.
The anime adds the following:
A scene of Kanjur arriving at Shinobu’s group’s hideout.
While Franky and Usopp berate Sanji for even thinking about visiting the spa, three kids walk into the house and play with Sanji’s Raid Suit canister.
When Perospero mentions that Big Mom and Kaidou were crew members in the past, the silhouettes of Big Mom and Kaidou’s younger selves are shown. In the manga, Mont-d’Or was the one who mentioned that Big Mom and Kaidou were former crewmates.
Momonosuke and Tama shout “Sunacchi” together.
Luffy uses a very heavy tool at work.
While showing Big Mom a map of Wan, Kiku explains more details about each region than in the manga.
