Summary:
As the battle between Kaida and Luffy takes place on the roof of the Skull Dome, Momonosuke desperately tries to steer Onigashi away from the Flower Capital, where its citizens are oblivious to the disaster that may befall them. In the capital of flowers, people drink to their heart’s content and dance to the music. They send lanterns into the sky with their wishes written on them to get to heaven. In her Toko, she writes that she wants to see her adoptive father again, which breaks Hitetsu’s heart.
Back on the roof, Kaidou looks out at the beautiful night sky, pulls out a barrel full of sake, and takes huge gulps of alcohol. Luffy is upset that he is drinking when they fight. Kaidou tells him it’s because he’s having fun. Today is the Fire Festival and they were planning a banquet on Onigashima, but Luffy and the others messed it all up. He offers Luffy some booze, but Luffy declines, declaring instead that he will hold his own banquet after defeating Kaidou.
Kaidou unleashes a massive amount of Haki and tells Luffy that he hopes he can throw a nice big banquet. Luffy is angered again when he sees that Kaidou is now drunk. Angered by the accusation, Kaidou throws the sake barrel down and then breaks down in tears at his ruined banquet. He continues to hiccup and laugh as he staggers around, barely able to maintain an upright posture. Enraged at the sight of a drunken Kaidou, Luffy attacks him. However, Kaidou easily dodges it and attacks with his Lightning Hammered: Ragnarak technique. Luffy takes a direct hit and a shock wave is felt on the roof.
Now in his dragon form, a drunken, crying Kaido laments that even though he’s having fun, the battle has already destroyed half of his castle, which took five years to build. Kaidou continues to lament his woes as he attacks Luffy with his drunken techniques. Luffy continues to fight back and ends up kicking him in the stomach, causing Kaido to cough up blood.
Meanwhile, in Mary Geoise, the Five Elders complain about how this year’s Levely is cursed. They mention that this resulted in the complete abolition of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the incident involving the Arabasta Kingdom, and the infiltration of the Revolutionary Army into Mary Geoise. The blond elder says that he needs to put them aside for now and deal with what’s going on in the land of Wano immediately. He expects that the CP0s have already captured Nico Robin and that the battles involving Big Mom and Kaido will end in death. It mentions the need to erase the existence of a certain Devil Fruit. Another elder denies its existence, saying that the said fruit is just a legend even for them, as it has not awakened for centuries. However, the blond elder says that the world government wouldn’t bother giving the devil fruit another name if they didn’t want to hide its name from history.
In the seas just outside of Wano, a fleet of naval ships is on standby, awaiting orders. The scout sees a giant shadow and uses the Den Den Mushi to report it to his superior. He describes the shadow as an island. In the distance, the silhouette of a giant elephant honks as it arrives just behind the Marine fleet.
