Summary:
Luffy continues his furious battle with Kaida. Despite his best efforts, the battle ends with Luffy being defeated by only one blow.
Luffy pummels Kaidou with his Elephant Gatling Gun move. Despite this, Kaidou is unharmed and knocks Luffy back with a belch. He then proceeds to attack Luffy with his tail and shoot fireballs, but Luffy dodges the attacks and knocks Kaidou to the ground with his Grizzly Magnum.
Kaidou is largely unharmed by Luffy’s attacks and transforms back into his human form. He gets up, dizzy from his drunkenness, but Luffy continues to fight, transforming into his Gear 4: Boundman form. He slammed into Kaidou with the Kong Organ Gun move, sending him flying and crashing into many buildings.
Despite this, Kaidou gets up. They participate in the final showdown and Kaidou ends up victorious, defeating Luffy using the Raimei Hakke move.
Law attempts to save Luffy, but is stopped by Hawkins, who shoots a Seastone nail into his arm, preventing him from using his Devil Fruit ability. Hawkins attacks Law with his straw sword, but Law gets nailed in time and escapes with the Shambles move.
Kaidou stands over Luffy and mocks his aspirations to become the Pirate King.
The anime adds the following:
Kaidou does not transform back into his human form after being attacked by Luffy’s Elephant Gatling like in the manga. Instead, Kaidou counters with a gust of wind.
Kaidou spits at Luffy’s fireballs.
Luffy uses more Gear 3 and Gear 4 attacks on Kaido than in the manga.
After Kaidou transforms back into his human form, Law tries to tell Luffy to run.
Luffy is covered in an aura of fury.
Instead of Kaido blasting his way through Luffy in a burst of speed, he is given the ineffective King Kong Gun.
When Kaidou defeats Luffy, the anime shows Luffy being knocked back and crashing head first into a wall.
Hawkins law is shown escaping.
