Summary:
As the Birdcage approaches Dressrosa, Luffy activates Gear 4, causing his torso to inflate and causing him to bounce around constantly. Doflamingo laughs at this new form, but Luffy pulls his fist into his arm and punches him, blowing him into the city far below. Luffy lands more big blows on Doflamingo as the Shichibukai struggle to keep up. However, Luffy can change the direction of his punches and absorb Doflamingo’s attacks.
As the citizens of Dressrosa continue to escape from the shrinking birdcage, both marines and pirates help the disabled. Some citizens are shocked to notice that the buildings that the Birdcage doesn’t cut are being pushed along with it, making them even more afraid. On the second level of the palace platform, Baby 5 explains how shrinking the birdcage was Doflamingo’s way of keeping his evil deeds from being revealed. Sai then orders the gladiators of the Corrida Colosseum who are still standing to rescue the fallen and carry them off the platform, and Baby 5 inwardly takes pride in her future husband’s leadership, which Chinjao also notices. Meanwhile, Viola, Usopp, and Hack climb down the King’s Platform and Viola notices that the center of the birdcage is moving towards Doflamingo’s position, meaning that the King’s Platform will be cut open as well. This causes Usopp to freak out and order Hack to get down faster. Zoro, Kin’emon and Kanjuro arrive in the streets of Dressrosa and Zoro runs towards them. When asked where he is going, Zoro reveals that they are going to stop the Birdcage, shocking the two samurai. In the Flower Field, Cavendish examines Law’s former severed arm, which was treated by Leo and Mansherry. Cavendish says that while working as a toy in an underground port transporting materials from the Underworld, he realized that it wouldn’t be enough to defeat Doflamingo himself. He tells Law that defeating Doflamingo would send ripples around the world, and Law replies that that’s what they were after.
On the roof of the palace, Luffy throws off his sandals as Doflamingo watches with interest as he activates Gear 4. Luffy extends his arm in Busoshoku Haki and blows into it, swelling his muscles to enormous proportions. Air moves into his torso causing him to balloon and Luffy’s Haki takes the form of tribal flames on his chest. This activated Gear 4: Boundman and Luffy keeps bouncing around the ground. Doflamingo laughs at the absurdity of Luffy’s new form, especially the constant jumping around. However, Luffy says that he used this form during his two years of training to subdue animals as he remembers fighting them with normal attacks. Doflamingo is still not impressed, but Luffy starts to clench his fist into his forearm and flies towards the Shichibukai at high speed. Doflamingo tries to block Luffy’s squeeze punch, which was named “Kong Gun” with his own Haki, but the punch sends him into the city far below.
Doflamingo slides into the building at high speed, causing it to fall. The citizens nearby turn to see what happened, and Viola is shocked to reveal to Usopp and Hack that Luffy has taken a new form and sent Doflamingo into the street. The citizens stare at the fallen Doflamingo in shock and fear, wondering what happened to their king. The two marines attempt to confront Doflamingo, but the Shichibukai’s anger causes them to lose ground as the citizens flee in fear. Doflamingo looks up at the palace, angry and amazed that he was sent flying so far. He suddenly sees Luffy flying towards him by squeezing his legs and jumping out of the air. Doflamingo tries to attack Luffy, but his attack misses when Luffy appears behind Doflamingo and kicks him with the “Rhino Schneider”, sending him into several buildings. The citizens stare at Luffy in shock and become even more confused as they watch the pirate jump uncontrollably through the streets. On the third level of the palace platform, Bartolomeo shouts with joy at Luffy’s new regime and tries to tell Kyros what a big deal it is. However, Cyrus knocks Bartolomeo out of the way as he was blocking his view.
Doflamingo ends up at the King’s Platform and tries to understand Luffy’s new form as he flies into the air. Luffy flies to Doflamingo’s place and the two clash. Doflamingo attacks Luffy with several chain attacks, but Luffy breaks them all when the two collide head-on. Doflamingo activates Busoshoku Haki and trades blows with Luffy, but the pirate physically overpowers Doflamingo and hits his head from a long distance. As Doflamingo flies, Luffy tries to hit him with a long punch, but Doflamingo dodges it and appears behind Luffy. Doflamingo kicks the defenseless Luffy with a Busoshoku Haki kick, but to his shock, Luffy’s body absorbs the blow despite being covered by Haki as well. Luffy’s body bounces off of Doflamingo’s kick sending the Shichibukai flying back and Luffy prepares for another strike. Doflamingo dodges him again, but using his Python technique, Luffy keeps changing the direction of the blow. Doflamingo uses Overheat to stop Luffy, but Luffy’s punch destroys him when he finally reaches Doflamingo and hits him in the face.
