One Piece Episode 597

Summary:

Sanji, Kin’emon, Brook and Zoro see Smiley. Brook talks about a story about a creature called Slime that dissolves women’s clothes, making everyone act perverted except Zoro, who points out that the slime is killing the fish in the lake, prompting Sanji to jump to find Kin’emon’s torso. . Law tells Monet to walk with him while Chopper is left in the lab to find the antidote.

Luffy confronts Caesar, who uses his Gas Robe attack until he discovers that Luffy is immune to the poison. Caesar then uses his Gastanets and Smiley to injure Luffy, who then grabs Caesar. Caesar then knocks Luffy out with an unknown ability. Robin, Franky, Tashigi and Smoker are also eliminated. Law and Monet walk down a corridor and encounter a mysterious figure who causes Law to collapse in pain while the mysterious figure tells him that it has been a long time since they last met.

Brook recognizes Slim and says he read about it in a book once. They attack women and use their bodies to melt women’s clothes. Sanji and Kin’emon are intrigued and ask to borrow the book later. Zoro directs their attention to the lake and says that the slime from the creature is probably dangerous to touch because the slime that fell into the lake killed all the fish. Brook asks Sanji if he’s really going to look for Kin’emon’s torso. Sanji says he is, and it’s something only he can do. Beforehand, Nami apologizes, saying that he is the best swimmer among them, and promises to return before something bad happens to Nami’s body. He tells the others to take care of the slimy creatures nearby as he dives in, realizing that cold doesn’t even come close to describing the temperature of the water.

Inside the lab, Law sees his chance when he and Monet are alone in the room. She tells him that Caesar is not there. Law gently places the bag with Chopper on the couch and asks where Caesar went. To his boss’s distaste, he concludes that he is probably watching the fights outside. Law tells her that he is almost done on the island and will be leaving soon. Monet seems disappointed and says he will be lonely without him. He tells her he wants to borrow her powers for a while and asks her to come with him. Monet teasingly calls it a date and goes with him, commenting on how cool Law is. When she asks him what he wants, he tells her he’ll figure it out when he gets there. Chopper then recognizes Monet as the bird woman Usopp was talking about.

Outside the lab, Luffy grabbed Caesar, much to his annoyance. The centaurs and satyrs point their weapons at Luffy, angry that he would lay a hand on their master. Franky recognizes that Luffy uses Haki and is amazed by the ability. Robin tells him that Busoshoku Haki is the ability to trap Logia users in their incorporeal state. However, unlike seastone or ocean, it does not cancel this ability. They still don’t know the true power of Gasu Gasu no Mi, so the battle is far from over. Her explanation is supported when Luffy attempts to attack Caesar with the Haki infused Gomu Gomu no Bell, but Caesar dodges by extending his torso. Caesar then uses a Gas Robe and throws it at Luffy’s head.

He laughs as he tells Luffy to take a breath, saying that he has done countless experiments on how deadly his gas is. Then, to everyone’s surprise, Luffy inhales all the poisonous gas, making it look like an obvious suicide to the onlookers. To surprise the audience even more, Luffy releases gas from his ears like a steam whistle. He tells Caesar that the poisons don’t work so well for him anymore, thanks to Magellan. Caesar is offended that he would be compared to a Paramecia Devil Fruit user. As he rages at the insult, Luffy attacks him with the Gomu Gomu no Jet Mace.

Caesar falls to the ground with a crash. His subordinates are angry that Luffy would do this to him and prepare to attack them. Caesar insults them, calling them peons and ordering them not to touch him. His subordinates are surprised by the insult. Luffy is about to attack Caesar with the Gomu Gomu no Gatling, but before he does, Caesar hits two castanets and causes an explosion called a Gastonet. Luffy is caught in the explosion and Robin is worried. To add to her fears, Caesar orders smaller pieces of Slime to attach themselves to Luffy and cause a blinding explosion. When the smoke clears, there is no sign of Luffy. Caesar begins to laugh triumphantly, only for Luffy to appear behind him and comment on how close and how big the explosion was, much to Caesar’s comically stunned surprise. Luffy then attacks him with Gomu Gomu no Jet Stamp. Franky and Robin breathed a sigh of relief as Luffy grabbed Caesar.

He yells at Franky and Robin if they have something to hold Caesar down because they can’t tie up Logia. Franky wonders if there is a barrel nearby. The Marine calls out that they are taking Caesar into custody and bringing Luffy with them. Tashigi tells Smoker that Luffy captured Caesar and he seems unconcerned. Suddenly, Luffy has trouble breathing and passes out. Caesar stands over him and says that Luffy took him too lightly. Franky, Robin, Tashigi and even Smoker are surprised and confused by what just happened. Robin tries to save Luffy but also passes out, prompting Franky to attack and try to attack, but he passes out as well. He then does the same to Tashigi and Smoker, triumphantly standing over all four of them.

Back at the lab, Law and Monet take a walk. Law clutches his chest in pain and appears to be having trouble breathing. He tries to speak and falls to his knees, which worries Monet. He looks into the darkness and wonders who is out there. A man gets out and says that he is the one Law felt. Law, who seems bothered to see him, asks what he’s doing here as Monet giggles. The man asks how long it has been and notes how much Law has grown.
