Summary:
Sabo was seen by his father, but Sabo pretended not to know him. Later, Sabo explained to Ace and Luffy that he was actually a noble. Ace, Sabo and Luffy became brothers when they had a drink together.
Sabo, Luffy and Ace continued their adventures and grew stronger day by day. They beat up the crocodile and then disguised themselves as a Gray Terminal salesman who went to the kingdom of Goa and pretended to sell crocodile skin for the nobles to the guards. On the way to the nobleman, they beat up some thugs and thieves and realized that it was the three children. When they reached the city, every noble was disgusted by their disguise for being so dirty. They sold the crocodile for a lot of money. They then headed straight to the restaurant where they ate ramen.
The restaurant manager refused to let them into the restaurant, but Sabo gave him a precious jewel, a bribe that immediately changed the owner’s mind. After being taken to their private room, they relaxed and ate a lot of food. When the waiter got tired of delivering extra portions to them, she walked into the room and saw a long hand reaching out and taking bowls from her hands. Frightened, she reported to the manager. When the manager and waitress looked inside to see more, they witnessed three children greedily eating bowls of ramen. Seeing that they were caught, Luffy, Sabo and Ace broke the window and jumped out of the building and ran towards it. As the nobles run, he calls Sabo by his name, which confuses Luffy and Ace. Ace asked Sabo for an explanation, only to see his friend deny everything, stating that the noble had mistaken him for someone else.
Arriving at Gray Terminal, Ace and Luffy convinced Sabo to tell them what Sabo was hiding from them. Sabo told them that he was actually a noble. Luffy and Ace were more confused and both stuck their noses out. Sabo then decided to tell the truth. He was born to a noble named Outlook III and his wife. As a young child, his parents urged him to study hard and try his best so that he could marry the daughter of the royal family to gain wealth, fame and a higher position. Sabo wondered if that would make him happy and they said yes and lied to him. Sabo became an intelligent and brilliant student. He studied hard and believed that he would eventually be happy.
One day, while his father was working hard, Sabo came to him and showed him a picture he had drawn to see his father’s point of view. In anger, his father tore up the drawing and told him to go study, which really saddened Saba. To make matters worse, he got into an argument with the son of the royal family, who beat him with a knife. Sabo was injured and so was the king’s son. Sabo told his mother that he hurt himself with a knife and he started to do it, but his mother ignored it and slapped him. Realizing that he was being taken advantage of, Sabo left for a new place known as Gray Terminal, where everyone was free and fun-loving and had no worries. Sabo went there day after day and ended up loving the place and spending most of his time there. This led to a significant drop in his grades. His father noticed this and told him never to go to that “stinking and rotten” place again. Sabo could not agree to this order and eventually ran away from home and started living there.
So this was Saba’s life story. Ace then swore to his two friends that one day he would become such a pirate that everyone would know his name. Sabo also swore that, but much to their surprise, Luffy told them that he would become the Pirate King. Ace and Sabo then mocked Luffy. Ace then brought three cups and a stolen bottle of sake from Curly Dadan and told them that when men drink together they become brothers, so the three boys did so and officially became “brothers”.
