Summary:
Boa Hancock’s ship reaches the Amazon Lily and she returns to her palace. Elder Nyon, the former ruler of the island, urges Hancock to answer the call to uphold the treaty that protects her people, but Hancock refuses and throws her out the window. Hancock goes to bathe and some of the villagers discuss a legend that says Hancock and her sisters defeated the Gorgon but were given eyes that turn anyone who looks at them to stone. Luffy continues to look for someone to lend him a boat, but falls into the bathtub. He sees a symbol on Hancock’s back that surprises him. Luffy is unaffected by Hancock’s beauty and does not turn to stone.
Yuda arrives at Amazon Lily and Kuja celebrates the return of the snake princess. One of the younger girls hopes to join Kuja when she grows up. The Gorgon Sisters lead their group from the ship. Sandersonia and Marigold are surprised that Kuja has been without its leader for so long.
As the monkey carriage is being prepared, Hancock believes that everything on the island is a sign. Kuja inspects his haul as Ran’s gift heads to the castle. She meets Grandma Nyon and bought a newspaper from the government ship.
At the castle, Hancock walks by, pleased to be home. She receives a ring, but then throws it away, thinking it would tarnish her image. Enishida also presents a statue of his master. He feels the statue but breaks it because it was made of mud and clay. Hancock also learns that the defenders were absent as they chased a wild beast racing through the jungle.
Luffy flies through the jungle and Kikyo fires another arrow at him. Sweet Pea thinks they got him, but the pirate caught the fish.
Hancock sits on his makeshift snake throne and asks for sake. Nyon walks in and demands an audience, but forgets the “please”. Nyon talks about how the central government ship has arrived and wants her presence so she doesn’t lose her title. However, Hancock is afraid. Without her title, Amazon Lily will be at the mercy of other pirates and the government.
While old, Nyon shows Hancock a crystal ball thinking about her future. The snake princess then sees her fortune; He is to leave immediately. Angered, Hancock had Nyon fired during his reign as Gloriosa was sunk years ago. At first, Hancock seems to agree to the government’s terms, but he doesn’t and throws Nyon out the window. He then demands that the glass be cleaned.
Nyon lands in the courtyard, but turns out to still be a wild Kuja. Hancock then announces that she needs to take a bath. This also interrupts Kuja’s daily lifestyle. When Hancock is bathing, no one is allowed inside the castle. One of the Kuja, Ran meets an eight-year-old girl and tells her about Sister Gorgon’s secret.
Hancock undresses while Ran tells her story. The Gorgon was a terrifying monster. If anyone looked at it, they would become statues. It was then that Hancock and her sisters killed the monster. As it died, the monster’s death cursed the sisters with monstrous eyes that turned to stone and killed anyone who looked at them. Therefore, ordinary people must not dare to stare at them as they leave the castle under heavy guard.
Hancock takes a bath while the fish carries Luffy and throws him further into the jungle. He spots a group of snakes and screams that draw the Kuja warriors to their location. He runs up the rock face and knocks the snakes off of him. Luffy returns to the city and considers his next move.
He discovers that Kuja has a pirate ship and hopes to borrow it. Without Nami, he hopes to ask to take their ships back to Sabaoda. He decides to ask someone in a large building and thinks of important people. As the Kujo defenders rush back, Luffy smashes part of the castle and lands in the water. As it is shallow, Luffy seems safe, but then he sees Hancock, also naked in the bathtub. She sees something on her back and the Snake Princess gets angry.
