Summary:
Luffy is revealed to be on the Amazon Lily, an island inhabited entirely by the Kuja warrior tribe. According to tribal traditions, men are not allowed to set foot on the island. Luffy wakes up in a cell and is given clothes by some of the women there who have never seen a man before and have no idea about them. He inadvertently angers his captors and is forced to flee when they try to kill him. He takes a woman named Marguerite hostage to get his Vivre Card back. As Luffy learns about the island from Marguerite, his pursuers are desperate to take him down before their leader, the Serpent Princess, returns.
The episode opens with an explanation of what Amazon Lily is like. He explains that only women live here and that sometimes women who leave the island give birth to a child, but only daughters are born. He also explains that there is a hole at the top of the island with a village in it. The women there are described as hard-working and warm-hearted, trained as warriors from childhood, but graceful. Then there’s a shot of a group of women looking into the prison cell where Luffy was brought. When Luffy wakes up, he remembers what happened and starts asking the women where he is. He realizes his straw hat is missing, and when he sees a woman outside the prison cell wearing it, he reaches out to take it back. This surprises all the women and backs off. Luffy asks them where his clothes are and they in turn ask him what “that thing between the two bags between his legs” is and Luffy replies “my family jewels” which intrigues all the girls and they ask him to take it off . and show them. He obviously refuses, so he gets his clothes back (new ones because his old ones were torn). However, the new dress has frills and flowers, making Luffy angry and screaming. His scream is the signal for the women to get into a fighting stance and they all aim at Luffy ready to fire. Realizing that they saved his life, Luffy apologizes and thanks them and asks them not to shoot. However, it fires and Luffy crashes through the roof and starts running. During the chase, he starts stealing food, causing almost the entire village to come after him. Somewhere along the chase, he realizes he needs his Vivre Card, so he takes Marguerite (the girl who made his clothes) with him and down into the woods, where he asks her to return it to him. He explains to her what the card does and why she needs it, and asks if there’s any way he can pay her back. He asks for his family jewels and Luffy is again horrified and refuses. Marguerite asks Luffy what kind of friends he has and Luffy explains that he is a pirate. Marguerite says her kingdom also has pirates and their captain is the Serpent Princess, Boa Hancock. The episode ends with the women on the island realizing that Hancock is on his way back and planning to quickly destroy Luffy and get Marguerite back before he arrives.
