Summary:
After being hit by Kuma, Luffy is teleported to an unknown island. While searching for food, they come across unknown mushrooms and eat them. Unfortunately, these mushrooms are “Body Mushrooms” and as Luffy goes to sleep, the mushrooms begin to grow on his body. He is then discovered by a trio of Kuja warriors who take him to their city to heal him, but during the cleansing process it is discovered that Luffy, unlike everyone else on the island, is a man.
On Sabaody, Duval finds the Thousand Sunny and tells the Rosy Life Riders to guard it until the craftsman arrives. Shalria demands that the Marines find the Straw Hats and bring them to her so she can enslave and torture them as revenge for hitting Charlos. Hachi, Camie, and Pappag take refuge in Shakky’s Rip-off Bar, where Shakky explains that the Straw Hats will have to be careful in the future, as the tides of the times are changing. Meanwhile, Luffy is transported across the sky using Kuma’s powers; Remembering the rumor Sentomaru told him about Kuma being able to send people flying for three days and nights, Luffy realizes that the rest of his crew are probably flying like him and decides to sleep it off.
Luffy eventually lands in the forest and decides to follow Rayleigh’s vivre card to reunite with the rest of the crew, but is immediately chased by a wild pig that tries to eat him. When Luffy arrives at a rock blocking his path and realizes how hungry he is, he decides to cook and eat a boar, reminding him of his childhood with his grandfather Garp. Luffy wanders around and finds some mushrooms to eat, which makes him feel inexplicably happy. Luffy realizes that the nearby mushrooms are causing him various emotions and begins to devour them.
Some time later, Marguerite, Sweet Pea, and Aphelandra investigate the smoke from the fire and find Luffy unconscious with mushrooms growing from his body. Marguerite identifies the mushrooms as parasitic and assumes that Luffy is a girl from a village she doesn’t know.
They take Luffy to the village to treat him with the help of many other villagers, which, per Belladonna’s instructions, involves pulling the mushrooms from Luffy’s body and burning the remaining stems. Seeing Luffy’s other injuries, they realize Luffy is in worse shape than they thought and decide to bathe him. In the process, Sweet Pea notices another “mushroom” between Luffy’s legs that they can’t pull out. Nyon arrives and they explain the situation to her. Nyon looks at Luffy and realizes that he is a man, shocking everyone.
The narrator explains that Luffy has landed on the Amazon Lilies, an island inhabited by the Kuja warrior tribe, where men face certain death if they set foot.
