Summary:
The straw pirates are still fighting the marines while Luffy holds off Lucci on the Bridge of Hesitation. Franky is shown firing into a crowd of Marines, prompting the one wearing boxing gloves to attack him. Franky easily dispatches him with raw power and throws him back behind the group he’s fighting. The Marines are shocked at how strong the pirates are and how easily they defeat the captains of the ships they came from.
As Luffy and Lucci continue their fight, Nami and Nico Robin are shown gasping for air and surrounded by marines. One marine notes that they should be fine as long as they can avoid Nami’s lightning attacks. Then they look up and realize there is another cloud above them. Robin has a hand from each marine and slaps him. Nami then warns the marines to be careful during the second storm and unleashes another Thunderbolt Tempo on them, frying the entire group. On a ship nearby, Kokoro, Chimney and Gonbe are seen cheering for Robin and Nami. Chopper is exhausted face up on the deck of the ship. Nami says they will leave Chopper’s care in their hands before Robin and her walk up the stairs towards Roronoa Zoro, Franky and Usopp. Chopper expresses his sadness at not being able to fight and wishes everyone good luck.
As Usopp watches Luffy fight Lucci, marines approach him from behind. He turns and fires his Kabuto at them, but they easily dodge and jump through the air towards him. Just as Usopp is about to be ambushed, Lucci’s Rankyak flies up and takes out the three marines who were about to attack Usopp. Usopp, who had his eyes closed, looked around to see all the marines spread out and immediately declares victory by starting to sing the Sogeking Song.
Franky punches Captain Very Good, only for it to split into many smaller balls because he ate the Beri Beri no Mi, and starts killing Franky with balls from all sides. Zoro steps in front of him and knocks away all the attacking balls. Franky then grabs Very Good’s head and shoots a weapon left behind the head that goes flying and hits the side of the battleship. Franky calls out to the Straw Hats to be careful as some of these marines have devil fruit powers. Nami and Robin arrive at the same location as Franky, Zoro, and Usopp with the marines in hot pursuit. Responding to Franky, Robin says that she is also a Devil Fruit user and turns to face the marines. She uses Clutch to take down the group.
Zoro then looks to see a masked marine standing there. As Zoro prepares to attack, the marine grabs his sword, which immediately rusts to dust down to the hilt. Marine tells Zoro that he is a rusty man who ate the Sabi Sabi no Mi and that Zoro can’t beat him with swords because they will all rust. Zoro picks up two Marine Swords from the ground before attacking. He slashes at the marine, but the sword he used only disintegrates after it turns to rust. Marine says again that Zoro can’t beat him with a sword and grabs Zoro’s arm and rusts his knuckles. The Marine begins to rust all over Zoro’s body as Usopp releases a Firebird Star that hits the Marine and pulls him out.
Meanwhile, somewhere inside the Enies Lobby, a Marine is shown talking in Den Den Mushi to another Marine somewhere on the island. As the marine drops the Den Den Mushi receiver and runs off, Sanji appears and kicks in the door the guard was protecting. A large lever appears as Sanji lights a cigarette.
Usopp looks back towards where Luffy and Lucci are fighting with a worried face. Usopp yells at Luffy to get up, who is on the ground bloodied and out of breath. Luffy manages to turn his head slightly and realizes that Usopp is standing there and not Sogeking. Usopp then starts taunting Lucci about having eight thousand followers and other lies which Lucci ignores. Usopp then taunts him, which eventually gets Lucia’s attention.
As Lucci starts to walk towards Usopp, Luffy tells him to leave Usopp alone and stop. Lucci tells Luffy that he has nothing to do with him now that he is defeated and to just watch him kill them all from there. Usopp waves at Lucci again and tells him that he will send Lucci flying. Luffy tells Usopp to stop and asks if he’s crazy because Lucci is going to kill him. Usopp then throws it in Luffy’s face and asks what he’s going to do with it when Luffy is so close to death. Luffy tries to get up but only coughs up more blood and falls back down. Usopp tells Luffy to stop worrying him. Lucci reaches the edge of the destroyed tower and asks Usopp if he’s done. To protect his friend from the threat of Lucci, Luffy stands up, ready to fight until he defeats his opponent. The two lunge at each other, each unleashing a flurry of punches.
About to fall to the ground, Luffy remembers his promise not to fall until he defeats Lucci. He stands up with his arms outstretched and lets out a blood-curdling scream. Lucci, who is covered in blood and breathing heavily, turns his head to see Luffy standing there and is shocked. Glaring at him, Luffy remembers all the times people said Robin would be the downfall of the Straw Hats, including comments from Admiral Aokiji and Lucci himself. Luffy unloads the jet gun on Lucca. Lucci flies at him and he tries a few more jet guns but they miss. Lucci tries to use the Rokuogan, but Luffy moves away. Just then, Lucci’s tail grabs Luffy and holds him in place. Lucci uses the tip of The Largest Ring: Six King Gun, which destroys Luffy. However, Luffy uses Jet Gatling. Seeing the huge attack coming, Lucci barely has time to use Tekkai and Lucci gets pounded and slams into the wall. Luffy powers up the Jet Gatling even more and hits Lucci hard enough to project through a wall. As the smoke clears over Tower 1, a Marine gets on Den Den Mushi’s speaker and reports that Rob Lucci has been defeated.
