Summary:
As Vivi watches the ticking bomb, she remembers Crocodile’s words, calling her idealism intolerable and disgusting, and that no matter what she does, she can’t save this country. Realizing that the ticking bomb will still destroy most of Alubarna with a 5km blast radius, the Straw Hats begin to panic. Furious at Crocodile for constantly making fools of people, Vivi begins to cry in anguish when someone stands behind her.
In the underground chamber, Luffy stands up and claims that the Crocodile cannot defeat him. Crocodile notes that Luffy is on the verge of death and his words are all barks and no bites at this point. As Luffy shouts that he will become the Pirate King, Crocodile attacks him with his hook, which Luffy dodges and uses his leg to take the attack to the ground, breaking the hook. Luffy then says that he will beat the Crocodile.
The man behind Vivi is revealed to be Pell, who calmly remembers Vivi’s childhood and the Suna Suna clan while Vivi desperately tries to tell him about the ticking bomb. In a flashback, Pell angrily slaps young Vivi, asking her why she is in a dangerous place and also asking her what he would do if she was seriously injured. Vivi is then shown riding Pell in her Falcon form, even though the king has forbidden it. Vivi asks why Pell is training, and Pell replies that he needs to get stronger to protect what needs to be protected. In real time, Pell mentions to Vivi that protecting Nefertari’s household is considered his proudest honor.
Pell then transforms into a falcon and uses his talons to grab the bomb, flying high in the air, much to the shock of Vivi and the Straw Hats who are watching. As Pell tells himself that he is the guardian of Arabasta, who defeats all the enemies of the royal household, he flies higher and higher when the bomb finally explodes, setting off a tremendous explosion, however, Alubarna remains unharmed.
