Summary:
The onlooker zombies watched as Sanji absolutely strangled Absalom and watched in amazement as their master lay beaten on the floor. Absalom questions Sanji’s aforementioned connection between the two of them. Sanji replies that Absalom is the man who took one of his dreams from him. Absalom retorts that it must be some mistake since this is his first encounter with a pirate. As he raises his arms to fire more shots at Sanji, the cook warns Absalom to remove the bazookas mounted on his arm. As Absalom seems confused by this, Sanji clarifies that if any of the resulting destruction from Absalom’s bazookas harms Nami, she will beat Absalom until his original form is no longer recognizable. Absalom dismisses the idea of Sanji realizing his secret and shoots him anyway. Sanji dodges and reminds him of his warning, kicking Absalom’s left arm, exposing the bazooka. When the watching zombies notice the sudden appearance of the bazooka, Sanji explains that he realizes that Absalom is able to make things he touches invisible as well. Sanji reveals that Absalom ate Suke Suke no Mi and thus knows all of his powers. Absalom questions how all this knowledge is possible, while the zombies similarly question if the two have met before. Sanji explains that he studied the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia as a child. Even though he was against the associated “curses” of the sea for being a devil fruit eater, there was one item in it that if he found it he would eat it regardless of the consequences. However, since there is only one fruit of each kind, if he came across a man who happened to have this ability, it would mean the destruction of his dream. So Absalom is the man who ruined his dream. Sanji tries to explain how ideally he could use this ability for others, but constantly finds himself expressing twisted intentions, to the shock of the onlookers. Sanji concludes that his years of simulation make him fully aware of what can be done with Absalom’s ability, and declares that he will not forgive him for bringing Nami into it. Initially believing their connection to be deeper, Absalom mocks Sanji’s frustration and calls him a pervert. This infuriates Sanji to land another powerful kick on Absalom, sending him away. The zombies again comment on the irony of the fight, noting how they are both guilty of perverted intentions. Absalom’s coat is removed and as he gets to his feet he says he will turn Sanji’s grudge back on him. He also explains the various augmentations that Dr. Hogback did on the body: the skin of an elephant, the 300 kilogram muscle mass of a bear and a gorilla, as well as the jaws of a lion. When he adds Suke Suke fruit to the mix, he claims his body is the ultimate work of art. Sanji puts in a hard kick to the head and tells him that he was still checking out women, to which the onlooker zombies agree. Absalom thinks that Sanji’s kick is quite powerful, making his augmentation almost pointless. Deciding to turn invisible again, he taunts Sanji that with the ability he’s always wanted, and by marrying the woman he’s trying to protect, he won’t be a bigger defeat for the pirate. Sanji recalls Usopp’s story that they lost all track of Absalom’s whereabouts once he made Nami invisible as well, prompting him to hold Nami in his arms for protection. Absalom delivered a powerful blow to Sanji’s left jaw, causing him to lift Nami above his head as blood briefly spurted from his mouth. Absalom then unleashes a flurry of blows on the defenseless Sanji, mocking him for being a human sacrifice. This culminates in her stabbing Sanji in the back, forcing Sanji to lay Nami down as she coughs up more blood. Absalom further mocks the pirate for breaking his word, but Sanji apologizes to Nami for putting her down because he didn’t want his blood to get on her white dress. Sanji once again addressed Absalom of the four, noting that he no longer desired his ability. Sanji says he’ll watch alone, the irony of the situation once again confusing the onlookers. Sanji notices that Absalom has entered his blood and grabbed his leg. Sanji states that since Absalom is made up of various animals, it is perfect for making mincemeat. Sanji removes the knife from his back and unleashes “Extra Hachis”, delivering several powerful kicks in rapid succession to Absalom’s invisible body. Absalom is thrown across the room, his invisible body crashing hard into the walls of the cathedral. As Sanji lights another cigarette, he tells Absalom that a beast bride is enough for a beast.
In the Mast Mansion, Usopp chases Perona through her room, just as Kumashi chases Usopp. Kumashi dives for Usopp and barely misses him as he continues his pursuit. Usopp comments on the bear’s speed and strength before using “Hissatsu Flame Ball” to spread fire at its feet. This scares Kumashi and Usopp smashes the oil bottle on the ground to create a circle of fire in the corridor. Usopp dubs his technique “You Can’t Come Over Here” and boasts that he no longer has a weak image due to overpowering both of his opponents. Usopp then turns his attention to Perona, who calls out to him from the window. Usopp is amazed that Perona is able to fly, which makes him wonder what her ability is. Perona tells him not to look down on the Ghost Princess and claims that she just came up with a plan to defeat him. Usopp complains that this shouldn’t have happened.
