Summary:
We see the aftermath of the party – people resting are exhausted after four days of partying. Luffy runs around trying not to wake up the people looking for his crew. He finds Nami, wakes her up, and asks her to wake up the others so they can steal the gold and escape. They get into a stupid argument that ends up waking most of the sleeping Sky People. Afterwards, Luffy tells them his plan.
In the morning, the Shandorian reports to the Shandorian Chief that they have found the Golden Bell and that it is hanging on Jack the Giant, but he may not be able to hold on. He asks for the help of every able warrior to go to the western shore to retrieve the bell from the celestial ocean. The Shandorians try to retrieve the bell, but are initially unsuccessful. The Skypieans then arrive to help and manage to pull the bell.
Meanwhile, Usopp starts a business with the Sky People, offering them rubber bands and tins in exchange for dials. His business has been going well and he is excited to use the dials he acquired to upgrade Nami’s Clima-Tact and his weapon. Zoro practices stone cutting while he waits for the others. Luffy, Sanji, Chopper and Nami are inside Nola and retrieve the treasure inside her belly. Robin wanders outside and explores the ruins of Shandia.
After the Golden Bell is found, the Sky People prop it up and find that one of its pillars has broken. He sees the Poneglyph at its base and wonders what the ancient writings say. Chief Shandorian says that since it is an ancient text, it is impossible for them to read it. Robin appears and proceeds to read the writings out loud for the Sky People to hear. He tells them that the Poneglyph mentions Poseidon, an ancient weapon named after the god, and that it indicates its whereabouts. She is disappointed because it wasn’t what she wanted to find.
As she leaves, Shandorian points to an ancient script engraved on the side of the bell that she missed. He reads the writing as “Gol D. Roger”, which shocks her. It continues: “I have come here and I will lead this journey to the farthest ends of the earth. The stormiest seas will not stop me. – Pirate Gol D. Roger.” She believes that the Pirate King has come to Sky Island, but is confused as to the meaning of these words. He wonders how he could understand and use the ancient language. Gan Fall tells Robin that he met Roger when he came to Sky Island over twenty years ago.
Robin tells the Shandorian Chieftain that the duty of the Poneglyph, which the Shandorians have protected for centuries, has been fulfilled as Roger has already taken the Poneglyph text here to the island where the “real Poneglyph” may be located. The Shandorian Chieftain is moved to tears as this means that their duty has been done, that they no longer have to fight and that the war is finally over. Robin declares that she too must continue her duty to take the Poneglyphic text she has been reading until the Laughter Tale.
Gan Fall tells Robin that Luffy reminds him of Roger and that he finds him very interesting. Robin agrees and says she finds him interesting too. Grateful for the help of the Straw Hats, the Shandorian Chief wants to give them the gold by offering the broken bell tower. The Sky People packed up the column and took it to the Straw Hats.
Meanwhile, the Straw Hats are impatiently waiting for Robin. As they approach the crew, they see a wrapped broken golden pillar, mistake it for a huge cannon and run for it. The heavenly people pursue and try to give them their gift.
