Summary:
The Straw Hat Pirates head to Cloud End with the help of Pagaya and Conise. As they freefall, Conis summons an octopus balloon to land safely in the Blue Sea. A golden bell is rung as the straw pirates go down to the sea, signifying that they are welcome in Skypiea at any time and that the Skypieans are deeply grateful for what they have done. When the ship finally comes to rest at sea, problems arise because the ship has landed on a naval base.
The Straw Hats (minus Nami, who is already on the ship) are seen running away from what they thought was a huge cannon. The Sky People are disappointed that they weren’t able to give them their gift and that they weren’t able to express their gratitude, though Aisa says that she could have thanked them before they left.
Meanwhile, in the Upper Yard, Wyper declares that while their ancient duty as Shandorians has already been fulfilled, the fire of Shandora will never die. The Shandorian chief asks Gan Fall to reassume the role of their leader. He initially declines this request as he still has to fulfill his duty as a Sky Knight, but the chief argues that their country no longer has any use for the role. He goes on to say that instead, they need someone who is kind and just, who can govern their country, and he is best suited for this duty. Gan Fall suggests that the Shandorian Chief led the Sky People because Shandora originally belonged to the Shandorians. The Chief says that it means nothing now and that Vearth should be shared among all the nations on Sky Island and that he is the best person to lead them. All the Sky People then call for him to be their leader, which he then accepts.
The Straw Hats sail across the White-White Sea towards Cloud End and prepare to leave Sky Island. Pagaya, Conis and Su accompany them on their wave. They reach Cloud End and begin their descent down the Milky Way, which takes them to the Blue Sea. As they freefall back into the Blue Sea, Conis summons an octopus balloon to soften their landing. He grabs the Going Merry and stops their free fall. It is then that the Celestials ring the Golden Bell to let their departing heroes know how much they appreciate them and are welcome back at any time.
Back on Jayi, Cricket tells the Saruyam Alliance that he is calling off the search for the City of Gold since they confirmed it was in the sky the whole time. He thanks them for believing in his dream and for deciding to leave the island. Masira and Shoujou ask if she is leaving the alliance, to which she responds by asking what dream they are going to follow next, implying that she is not leaving them.
On the Going Merry, Luffy, Sanji, Usopp, and Chopper discuss what to do with the treasure they found in Shandora. Nami tells them that they can’t buy everything they want because they’ll end up broke and that they have to make sure they land safely first. Robin catches Nami’s attention and asks her where they are headed. Nami realizes that they have been knocked down by the air current and that they are unable to control the ship with the sails due to the octopus.
The descent takes longer than expected, the crew gets bored, and Luffy decides to jump on the octopus and jump around its head like a trampoline. Sanji notices that the octopus is getting smaller, so he tries to stop Luffy from playing. Unfortunately, the octopus loses air and begins to free fall to the sea. To stop them from falling, Usopp goes to the bottom of their ship and attaches breathing buttons to help the ship float. The ship slows down for a moment, but the Octopus loses all air and the ship crashes and lands in the sea. Amazingly, the ship survives the fall. After landing, they hear sirens and see searchlights directed at Merry.
