Summary:
Oars recover from Nightmare Luffy’s attack. However, all of the Straw Hats regain their feet, from Luffy to Brook, and launch a final devastating attack on Oars, which ends with Luffy smashing a Giant Bazooka into Oars from above, breaking his spine and finally defeating the demon. However, Gecko Moria emerges from Oars’ stomach moments later and prepares for his ultimate technique, Shadows Asgard. By consuming all the shadows of all the zombies on the Thriller Bark, a thousand shadows in all, Moria becomes a grotesque oar-sized monster with short slender legs, gigantic arms, and a huge, swollen neck pulsing with veins.
The oars lie seemingly broken along with Moria as the Rolling Pirates cheer Luffy to victory. Usopp tries to wake Luffy up as he was exhausted from using the shadows for his nightmare. With sunrise approaching, Lola hoped that Luffy would force Moria to return the shadows to their rightful owners.
Suddenly, Oars and Moria recover and scare the Rolling Pirates, who have run out of options. The crew plans to get into the forest as the sun will be blocked, but the Straw Hats recover. Luffy insists on attempting a coup d’état on the oars, but is worn out. Robin provides Luffy with footholds to climb up. Lola’s crew is surprised by Brook’s appearance. Nami also shows up at the top of the tower.
Sanji and Chopper run down the hall while Franky prepares something with Usopp.
As the Rolling Pirates clear out, Brook climbs the tower on Robin’s arms while Nami uses Cool Balls and Rain Tempo to subdue the giant zombie. Franky then fires a Coup de Vent to charge the Super Cold Cannon and freeze the oars. With the oars frozen from the feet down, Sanji kicks the chains at the giant.
At the top of the Thriller Bark’s mast, Luffy is thrown down by Brook, who then goes into Stage Three and uses the Bone Balloon to enlarge his arms. Zoro then forces his way into Oars stomach with the Three Thousand Worlds slash. Sanji then tightens the chains around Oars neck. Chopper points out how Oars’ spine is S-shaped and as it straightens, it takes the full impact of Luffy’s punches. Captain Straw Hat then uses the Gum-Gum Giant Bazooka to break Oars’ spine and finally defeat him.
Everyone is in surprise and amazement as the oars fall defeated.
As dawn approaches, the zombies begin to fear that Thriller Bark will be completed. Cindry watches silently, as does zombie warthog Lola.
As the Rolling Pirates and Lola cheer, Luffy is reduced to size. Chopper knows that even if his spine is broken, the big zombie won’t get up. Usopp tells his captain to hurry up and get the shadows back from Moria.
Suddenly, Moria stands up and Lola demands that the shadows be returned to their rightful owners. However, he refuses and blames everything on Luffy. Moria points out that the New World is far more dangerous than anyone can imagine, even for straw pirates. Moria then gathers the shadows to him since zombies are immortal. Using Shadows Asgard overloads itself with about a thousand shadows and becomes more grotesque. In the process, Cindry, warthog Lola, Hildon, Jigoro, Inuppe are lifeless and the other shadows are consumed.
