Summary:
When Luffy defeats Bacuro, the panther executioner, he goes to fight Marigold the boa constrictor and Sandersonia the boa constrictor. Boa Sandersonia plays with the Marguerite statue to cause Luffy pain. Luffy then unleashes a very rare and powerful Haoshoku Haki, surprising the crowd and the Bo sisters.
Luffy is challenged to fight Boa Marigold and Boa Sandersonia in the Amazon Lily Arena with spectators calling for Luffy to be executed. The sisters in their snake forms are ready to fight Luffy. Boa Marigold in Salamander form and Boa Sandersonia in Forked Snake form. People believe that the sisters were cursed upon defeating the Gorgon and took over her power. However, Luffy realized that they had devil fruit powers. Luffy called for a timeout and used it to remove the statues of Sweet Pea, Marguerite, and Aphelandra from the battle arena. He apologized to the statues of the three women who suggested that they were put in this situation because they saved his life. He noted that Chopper could have found a solution just like when he and Robin were frozen by Aokiji’s ice. Afterwards, Luffy came into the arena and asked the sisters to just beat them up, surprising everyone present.
The audience laughed at Luffy’s question that it was impossible for him to defeat Bo Marigold and Bo Sanderson. Horrible Marigold warned him about the spikes between the arena and the spectators. Boa Hancock then ordered that Luffy be executed for the crime he committed by trespassing on the Isle of Women and for disrespecting her. Marigold started attacking Luffy and realized that he wasn’t that bad in a fight. She also attacked him with her deadly poison, which he dodged several times. Luffy tried to attack Boa Marigold with Gomu Gomu no Stamp and realized that the attack was hurting him. Boa Sandersonia caught Luffy with its tail and Luffy wondered why his attacks hurt, even though he was fighting against Sentomaru, it felt the same as him.
Boa Sandersonia recognized Luffy as a Paramecia Devil Fruit user. Luffy also acknowledged that they were Devil Fruit users and asked why they lied about being cursed. She told him that it was a secret that could not be revealed to anyone, even if that person died. She stated that he was unable to use Haki, saying that people not from their island did not know it. She predicted Luffy’s attack and dodged, then attacked him with Snake Slam. Luffy attacked with the Gomu Gomu no Gatling Gun, which Boa Sandersonia dodged with a snake dance. Horrible Marigold then attacked him with the Serpent Rod. Both sisters attacked him and Luffy fell backwards trying not to hit the statues and towards the spikes.
Luffy dodged falling into the spikes by anchoring his arms and legs. Horrible Hancock commented that Luffy was a talker and a stupid man, to which Luffy told her to shut it up and called her an idiot. The crowd became very angry at Luffy’s insult to Hancock and called for his immediate execution. Hancock then ordered his sisters to kill Luffy immediately. Sandersonia then picked up Marguerite’s statue and threatened to break it because she saved Luffy’s life as he said. Marigold hinted to Luffy that the ordeal is a public execution and not a fight as he thinks. Sandersonia was about to execute Marguerite even though Luffy yelled at her to stop. As she counted down to break the statue, Luffy yelled “I told you to stop, dammit”, causing him to unleash his Haoshoku Haki. This surprised many in the crowd who were able to stand it and the others fell unconscious.
Kikyo and the Boa sisters were stunned when they realized the power Luffy had just unleashed. Luffy, unaware of his powers, ran to Marguerite whose statue is on the floor. He was happy that the statue didn’t have a scratch and thanked Marigold and Sandersonia for finally listening to him. Boa Hancock was surprised/upset that Luffy had the same Haoshoku Haki ability as her and wondered who Luffy really was. Wondering why everyone was being so loud and obstreperous, Luffy acknowledged the sisters that they were strong and announced that the fight would continue.
