Summary:
Garp visits Ace and talks to him in Impel Down. Buggy was revealed to have been captured and taken to Impel Down. Luffy and Hancock finally arrive and he hides under Hancock’s cloak. They are ushered inside, only to find that Hancock must undergo a full body search.
Vice Admiral Garp proudly spoke to Ace at Impel Down about some of Luffy’s actions, mentioning that they both have the blood of a world-class criminal. Ace claims that Whitebeard is his only father since he took care of him after he went wild.
Meanwhile, on Vice Admiral Momonga’s ship disguised as Bo Hancock, Luffy is worried about Ace. Aboard the naval ship, Momonga spots Captain Buggy’s ship and it looks familiar. The Buggy Pirates saw the Sea King emerge next to them and fall back into the sea. The Buggy Pirates were worried about their captain, who had been taken to Impel Down and wanted to free him, but getting inside would be impossible for them. Alvida suggests that they should take a small ship if they want to get to Impel Down, so they conclude that it would be too dangerous for them and give up trying to escape.
The prisoners of Impel Down are tortured; a new prisoner refuses to obey another prisoner’s orders and starts fighting. The Minotaur stopped them and took them both to another prison cell where they were eaten alive.
Momonga’s ship arrives at Impel Down through the Gate of Justice. Other naval ships await at the entrance to Impel Down. At all the marine ships, Luffy asks if anyone used the Buster Call. Hidden under Hancock’s cloak, Momonga, Hancock and Luffy left the ship and entered Impel Down. Hancock tried to put up with the Marine’s love for her, but Momonga politely suggested that she not petrify them. Around this time, Buggy the Clown escaped from his cell on Level 1.
The prisoners inside Impel Down screamed. Hannyabal greeted Momonga and Hancock in prison. Hannyabal told Momonga that he wanted to see Warden Magellan of Impel Down. The Deputy Manager of Domino Prison escorts Hancock into a room where she can search Hancock in private as usual with all visitors. Domino took her search for Hancock seriously and forced Hancock to wear Seastone handcuffs to disable her Devil Fruit abilities. Hancock accepted, but her heart was pounding with tension.
This is the first episode of the Impel Down Arc.
The original premiere airing of this episode featured a preview of One Piece Film: Strong World at the end.
The trailer for the next episode is shortened from its usual length, presumably to make room for the Strong World trailer.
