One Piece Episode 783

Summary:

Sanji is taken to the Queen Mama Chanter, Big Mama’s territory. Vito shows Sanji a photo of his soon-to-be fiancée Charlotte Pudding. Still, Sanji tells Tamago and Vito that he will not marry. Chiffon stops an angry Gotti from mistreating Sanji as they would lose their heads if the ‘precious groom’ was harmed. Meanwhile, the Straw Hats struggle to survive the harsh weather and lack of nutrition.

Starving straw men sail through the storm. Trying to stay the course. Luffy claims that he will save Sanji no matter what.

At the Queen Mama Chanter, Sanji notices that Tamago’s transponder auger keeps ringing. Tamago explains that the snail receives ‘warning signals’. At that moment, the ship passes by Tarte 28 (the base where Big Mom’s pirate squad waits to attack any intruders). Tamago then tells Sanji not to be stubborn and just team up with Big Mom along with Germa 66; saying that Sanji’s father wants it. Sanji angrily yells at Tamago not to talk about his father (since their relationship was already broken), saying that he only came to end it. Sipping from the cup on her head, Tamago explains how Big Mom appreciates Sanji for being a cook (despite being a straw hat). Sanji notes that the Tamago “people” don’t care that their friends die and says that he will only cook for his own nakama. Tamago states that Bege was right to incapacitate Pekoms. Vito then brings up a photo he recently received from Whole Cake Island. Sanji tells them that he will not marry. Despite Sanji’s threats, Vito shows him a photo of Pudding, Sanji’s soon-to-be fiancée. Sanji reacts to the beautiful photo as he would any other pretty woman.

Later, Sanji walks around the ship as people pile up large gifts. Vito follows and asks Sanji about his reaction to Pudding’s photo. He then asks Sanji if he’s ever read the WEJ (World Economic Journal). WEJ has a comic book titled “Sora, Warrior of the Sea”. Vito assumes that he was created to indoctrinate children about how “the Navy is always right and strong”, and states that he likes the comic’s antagonists, Germa 66.

Sanji tells Vito not to talk about him as one of the members of Germa 66. Regardless, Vito was happy to see Germa 66 in person. Sanji wakes up the sleeping door and wants to open it. He then goes to the room he was given and tells Vito to stop following him. In a nearby cage, Caesar demands to be released. Vito explains how they were only ordered to capture Caesar, while Sanji, on the other hand, was to be treated kindly (since he is a “rare groom” whose purpose would be to unite Charlotte’s family with Germa 66). Sanji reiterates his reluctance to marry and tells Vito to leave. ‘Hitman’ Gotti from the Fire Tank Pirates appears. Gotti aims a large machine gun at Sanji; he told him to apologize to Vito for being rude. Vito tries to convince him that it’s okay. Sanji tells them both to leave while Vito tries to hold Gotti down and then goes on to say that it’s okay not to tolerate him because they’re not friends. An angry Chiffon bursts into the room and asks Gotti not to mistreat Sanji or Big Mom will take their heads off. He apologizes to Sanji and then drags Gotti out of the room by the ear. Vito is the next to leave, the living door closing behind him. Sanji wonders aloud how much Chiffon “looks” like her. While crying, Caesar complains about the unfair advantage Sanji has and the likelihood of Caesar being killed by Big Mom.

A few days later, the hot sun beats down on the starving Straw Hats. Luffy, Brook, Pedro, and Chopper sit fishing on the edge of the Sunny; everyone exclaims how hot the weather is in return. In what little shade there is on the deck, Nami along with Carrot and Pekoms beg the others to catch fish before the weather turns again. Chopper explains the slim chances of that since the sea water seems to be boiling. Luffy bites down on his fishing rod and tries to get the big fish out of the water. He finally manages to pull the fish out and yells, “Let’s eat!”

Somewhere else, a large vessel shrouded in fog floats in the sea. Silhouettes of two people talking about their desire to meet “him”

The “We Can!” opening now shows future scenes from the Whole Cake Island Arc.

The anime adds the following:

The Sanji Retrieval Team goes through a storm while starving.

After showing Sanji a picture of Pudding, Vito asked him what he thought of his fiancé.

As Chiffon drags Gotti out of Sanji’s room, Sanji tries to talk to her and Chiffon apologizes for Gotti’s behavior. In the manga, Sanji and Chiffon were not shown interacting during that time.

After Vito leaves Sanji alone in his room, Caesar screams in horror at the thought of Big Mom killing him, while complaining that Sanji is getting better treatment.

Reiju and Yonji have earlier debuts in the anime, though their appearances are shadowed. They first appeared in the manga when the Sanji Retrieval Team encountered them after Luffy got food poisoning.

The anime shows more illustrations of the “Sora the Sea Warrior” comic than the manga. Only Sora’s back was shown in the manga.

Illustrations of all Germa 66 commanders are also shown. Only Judge, Ichiji, and Niji are clearly shown in the manga.

The scene of Luffy catching the giant fish is extended.

This is the first episode of the Whole Cake Island Arc.

This is the first episode with Keiichi Ichikawa as chief animation director, taking over from Kazuya Hisada.
