Summary:
As the citizens of Ebisu town mourn Yasui’s death, Shinobu reveals more information about the SMILE fruits.
Toko enters the gallows hoping to revive her father. When Orochi sees Toko, he tries to kill her as well, but Zoro and Sanji step in and save her.
The citizens mourn Yasuie’s death, although the people of Ebisu town laugh at the death. Shinobu and Hiyori explain the SMILE fruit. Wanting to increase the strength of his army, Kaidou bought the artificial Zoan fruit from Doflamingo. However, the success rate of these fruits is ten percent, meaning that only ten percent of SMILE fruit consumers will successfully gain the ability. The other ninety percent would permanently lose the ability to swim and express any emotion other than joy.
Fighters of the Beasts Pirates are divided into three categories. Waiters didn’t eat SMILE fruit, Donors are those who gained SMILE fruit powers, and Pleasures are those who ate SMILE fruit but didn’t gain powers.
The dark history of the city of Ebisu is revealed. It was a poor town that received its food from the capital. Orochi took some failed SMILE fruit that had already been bitten and gave it to the city. Since the people of Ebisu City had no other source of food, they ate the defective fruit and suffered from its negative side effects.
Toko decides to break through the fence and go to her father’s corpse. Orochi sees her and prepares to shoot her, blaming her for Komurasaki’s death. However, Zoro and Sanji stop him, breaking through the fence and cutting the bullets in two.
