Summary:
Kaidou defeats Oden at Udon and the captives are captured. They are sentenced to be executed by boiling, where Oden proposes a challenge.
To the disappointment of Kaidou, the king and queen, Oden and his minions fought hard against Kaidou’s men, with Shinobu even joining them. Kaidou decided to strike personally with his “Bolo Breath” attack, but Oden was left unharmed by the attack. The two battled each other one on one while Oden’s minions battled the king and queen. Kaidou got the upper hand and knocked Oden into the fiery ground below him.
Oden stood up, ready to face him again. He sheathed his Ryuo swords and jumped towards Kaidou. Although Kaidou’s flames almost knocked him back down, he resisted the flames through sheer force of will and slashed at Kaidou’s body, being the first person to ever cut Kaidou. He prepares to finish off Kaida while in his human form.
However, Higurashi disguised herself as Momonosuke while the Pirate Beasts held her at knife point. This distracted Oden just enough for Kaidou to critically injure him. Ashura and Kin’emon tried to help him, but were defeated by the King and Queen. Oden collapsed to get the win for the Beasts Pirates. Fires started during the battle raged through the Udon Forest for five days until rain finally extinguished them.
Oden and the Nine Red Sheaths were all imprisoned in the Flower Capital, only Shinobu was spared. Before that, Oden denied her allegiance so that she wouldn’t be arrested along with the others. Finally, the verdict of the Nine Red Scabbards was announced, and in three days they would be executed by boiling.
Three days passed and the day of the execution arrived. The public event became a great spectacle, as execution by boiling was rare. As Oden was walking down the plank into the pot, one of the executioners slipped on the oil, fell into the pot, and suffered an excruciating death. Just before entering the bank, Oden proposed a bet to Orochi: if he and his charges survived a set amount of time in the bank, they would be freed.

The appearance of the King and Queen during the battle against Oden and Scabbards is fully visible. They were overshadowed in the manga.
King demonstrated the ability to fly without transforming into a pteranodon using the wings on his back.
The scene where King creates a crescent-shaped scar on Raizo’s forehead is omitted.
It was also revealed that the Queen had a shorter mustache than at present.
In the manga, after Oden scarred Kaidou, the Emperor was still in his Beast Form when Oden was about to finish him off. In the anime, Kaidou transforms back into his human form and was about to confront Oden before he was distracted by “Momonosuke” being held hostage.
