Summary:
As the Straw Hats leave Wano, Nami is furious with Luffy for choosing to descend Wano via the falls instead of the official port. Moments later, Robin buys a newspaper from News Coo and notes that their new rewards have been released.
Since Luffy is now one of the new four emperors, he is referred to as the senior captain of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet and his crew members as senior officers. All of their rewards have increased as follows:
Chopper’s reward increased to 1000 Beli, a small increase of 900 Beli, much to his displeasure.
Nami’s bounty has increased to Bela 366,000,000, so she wishes she could keep that money for herself.
Brook’s reward has increased to Beli383,000,000, which he is happy about.
Franky’s bounty has increased to Beli394,000,000. He is angry when his poster shows Sunny instead of his face.
Usopp’s reward is increased to 500,000,000 Beli, which makes him afraid of how high it is.
Robin’s reward has increased to Beli930,000,000, which she is nonchalant about.
Sanji’s bounty is increased to Beli1,032,000,000, which he is initially pleased to see increased, though he becomes enraged when he discovers that his bounty is less than Zoro and Jinbe’s.
Jinbe’s reward has increased to Beli1,100,000,000, making him happy to finally be recognized as one of the Straw Hats.
Zoro’s reward has increased to Beli 1,111,000,000, which he rubs in Sanji’s face, calling him a mere “fourth place”.
Luffy’s reward is increased to Beli 3,000,000,000, but he is unable to respond to the message as he is stuck in the cage that Nami put him in.
Meanwhile, Crocodile and Mihawk arrive on the island of Karai Bari, the hideout of Buggy’s Delivery. Buggy pleads for his life for a misunderstanding that portrayed Crocodile and Mihawk as his subordinates, causing the World Government to declare him one of the Four Emperors. This despite the fact that Crocodile and Mihawk were the ones who started the Cross Guild. According to them, the word “humiliation” is not enough to describe the situation, so they have to kill the clown.
In a flashback, it is shown how Mihawk and Crocodile agreed to team up after the dissolution of the Warlord System during a recent Level. The dissolution stripped Mihawk of his immunity and returned him to pirate and fugitive status. They arrived at the island of Karai Bari, which was surrounded by a fleet of marines who bombarded Buggy’s Delivery hideout with artillery fire. Mihawk and Crocodile sink the naval ships and get rid of the naval forces. This act caused Buggy’s henchmen to mistakenly think that Crocodile and Mihawk were there as Buggy’s henchmen rescuing their supposed boss. They were actually there to collect a debt that Buggy owed Crocodile as they needed money to finance their newly formed company. Unable to pay, Buggy offered his services to work off his debt instead. He offered both manpower, advertising and transportation services, which they accepted.
Back in the present, Crocodile shows Buggy the flyers the latter distributed for the Cross Guild, which showed him in the center of the poster, his picture larger than that of Crocodile and Mihawk, indicating that he was their boss. This was due to Buggy’s passionate minions worshiping him as their great and powerful leader. The poster reached the Marines, who saw Buggy as a threat because he was once part of Roger’s crew, much like Shanks. The Marines also thought Mihawk and Crocodile came to his aid that day. As the Cross Guild’s influence builds around the world, they list new bounties for all three. Crocodile’s reward was increased to Beli 1,965,000,000, Mihawk’s reward was increased to Beli 3,590,000,000, and Buggy’s reward was increased to Beli 3,189,000,000 as their supposed leader and the new Sea Emperor.
After a while, Mihawk backs off and thinks it’s not a bad idea to have Buggy as their figure. He has no plans to become emperor himself as he would rather live a peaceful life. Crocodile finally agrees after seeing the merits. Buggy then addresses everyone in the hideout as a new Cross Guild figure. Introduces Mihawk and Crocodile as the new high officers of the guild.
